Reporting to the Director, Application Delivery Services, the Manager, IT Quality Assurance is responsible for the management and coordination of all aspects of the IT Quality Assurance team to meet or exceed company and department objectives.

Location: Toronto, ON

• Responsible for training, development and coaching of Quality Assurance Testers. Encourage and develop reports in an effort to advance their technical expertise and business acumen.
• Establish and maintain clear framework of how Quality Assurance Testers will be measured and evaluated.
• Manage Quality Assurance deliverables for multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion.
• Responsible to understand current best practice test methodologies and effectively facilitate implementing these methodologies in an IT organization. Ensure that adapting these methodologies and best practices continually meet business needs and are aligned with IT processes.
• Define responsibilities, assign resources, create, maintain and monitor test schedules and budget for project portfolio.
• Effectively allocate resources to optimize project/non-project portfolio delivery.
• Ensure that quality assurance milestones are met by anticipating issues, managing resources and risks.
• Ensure that adherence to technical standards, process and policy is being followed.
• Foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration with other IT teams and throughout the business, which results in improved alignment and innovation.
• Work collaboratively to plan portfolio and project/non-project deliverables and provide status updates to Project Managers on a regular basis.

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience in Enterprise IT environments working in, managing and leading quality assurance test team.
• Demonstrated leadership experience to motivate, build, develop and lead effective teams to achieve results.
• Must be knowledgeable of current quality assurance methodologies and a proven track record in effectively implementing these methodologies in an IT organization. Ability to understand and adapt these methodologies and best practices to meet business needs and align them with IT processes.
• Proven ability to manage test activities on multiple simultaneous application development projects from inception to completion, delivering on time and on budget.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Web and Mobile Testing strategies.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the implementation and maintenance of automated testing strategies.
• Expert Knowledge in Standard Development Life Cycle Software (SDLC) methodologies and test case and bug tracking tools.
• Experience in planning test activities for multiple projects, based on a high level understanding of business needs, including the ability to define appropriate decomposition of work items from inception to completion for test resources.
• Strong knowledge of software test procedures and an expert knowledge of software QA/test methodologies including development/writing of test plans and business test cases.
• Highly developed planning, organizing and negotiating skills; can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of internal and external customers.
• An accomplished Facilitator with excellent interpersonal and communications skills that support working effectively in multi-disciplinary and multiple location team environments.
• Ability to travel within Canada.
• Bilingual French/English would be considered an asset.
