Description

We are seeking an individual to serve as a IT Business Analyst in our Windsor office. The Business Analyst is the primary contact between projects and business partners. They are a skilled analyst responsible for gathering requirements for complex technology initiatives, and ensure that all business requirements are satisfied throughout all phases of a project. They must be able to support production systems where required. This position will report to the Manager, Business Analysis, Information Technology.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate communication with business representatives to determine clear understanding of business problems.
• Responsible for understanding current and future processes, including processes for the entire enterprise.
• Analyze business problems and define conceptual and detail requirements for resulting technology solutions utilizing various modeling techniques.
• Develop detail requirements, implementation plans and conversion plans. Participate in developing project plans, test plans, training plans and deployment plans.
• Responsible for execution of implementation, conversion and aspects of test and deployment plans.
• Work closely with test team to determine test scenarios and test cases.
• Work closely with technical team to determine integration and performance testing requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring coverage of requirements and test scenarios.
• Develop an awareness of industry business trends and best practices.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production system problems effectively.
• Perform data analysis using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Works closely with developers and the technical support team to resolve production support issues.

COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• University Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of Information Technology experience for custom systems and implementation on large, complex projects.
• Demonstrated facilitation and consultative skills.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly developed planning, organizing and negotiating skills.
• Experience managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
• Proven analytical abilities and able to work at an abstract level.
• Demonstrated understanding in requirements definition and management techniques including business process, use case, work flow and data modeling.
• Experience with relational databases. Data modeling and data mining experience desirable.
• Experience with applying custom system development methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MSOffice products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
• Knowledge of SharePoint would be an asset.
• Experience leading projects and initiatives would be considered an asset.
• Bilingual French/English would be considered an asset.
